Coming Up: Coaching Talk #3 - Wing Control (with Chris)
About the Coaching Talks Series
This website will bring together a series of online coaching talks created for the South East Wales paragliding community. The aim is simple: to share practical knowledge, experiences, and lessons that help pilots progress, fly more confidently, and get more out of their time in the air.
The idea for these sessions came from a common challenge. On flying days, most pilots understandably want to be in the air rather than standing on launch listening to long briefings. Club lectures can also be difficult to attend, especially when they involve travel or busy schedules. Running sessions online makes it easier for more people to join in, learn, and contribute - wherever they are.
These monthly sessions cover topics that have made the biggest difference to my own flying over the past few years, including weather, instruments, wing control, thermals and cross-country flying. Pilots of all experience levels are very welcome, and input from more experienced pilots is especially encouraged to help build shared understanding across the club.
Sessions are held online using Microsoft Teams. Each session typically runs for around an hour:
~45 minutes on the main topic
~10 minutes Q&A
~10 minutes open discussion
This site acts as a central hub for all sessions, with video recordings available via YouTube along with downloadable slides for each talk.
The goal is not just coaching, but connection - bringing together newer and more experienced pilots to learn from each other, share insights, and build confidence in a supportive environment.
Whether you're just starting out or have years of experience, you're very welcome to join.
